Thank You Fans!

The Food Bank of Western New York partnered with the Girl Scouts of WNY to collect food and monetary donations at the 12th annual Buffalo Bills Kids Day pre-season game with Cincinnati on Saturday, August 28th.  We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day!  We were greeted at the gates by happy fans and families that had enjoyed all of the children’s activities.

The theme of this year’s drive was Caring for Kids and all food and proceeds donated through the program will be donated to the Food Bank’s children’s programs.

We are grateful to the Food Bank volunteers, the Girl Scouts, the Bills’ Community Relations Department and the Buffalo Jills who helped us in this very important endeavor!!  We cannot do the work we do without our valued volunteers.

Bills fans donated 745 pounds of food and $2,580.17.  Add a $10,000 donation from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation and $5,000 from Tops Friendly Markets for a grand total of $17,580.17 which will allow us to distribute 164,212 meals. But we are not finished yet!  Perry’s Ice Cream sold ice cream at Bills training camp and at the game. The proceeds from their sales will be added to our total. 

We were fortunate to have three wonderful sponsors and a wonderful crew of volunteers working with us to make this Fan Food Drive so successful!  A heartfelt thanks to everyone involved!
